…are being debated for the dressing room (as in I’m debating them and Mr. H+F is looking at me like I’ve lost my mind!) Perhaps it’s the degree of brightness. I want them really bright, I feel my retina burning a little bit yellow. Here is the swatch trying to get comfortable against the newly painted walls.
There is some great inspiration in this post from Caitlin. I had a few of those same images saved to a “yellow love” folder for some time.
I’ve been trying to identify some of the elements that surround these pretties in the rooms where they really work (like above). I think the key may be to keep everything else fairly muted and letting the fabric shine. Things are getting a wee bit crazy for me in that last Met Home picture with the sofa fabric and the pattern in the rug.
The walls and the paint treatment in there will be pretty subtle. But the big unknown for me in all of this is just how much visual “busy-ness” our clothes will lend to the room since all the storage will be open. I think I’ll probably wait until I have it all installed and then make a decision.
To complicate matters, Jamie posted a picture of her guest room with pink walls and these adorable dot curtains. I love them but I think I’m still leaning yellow.
So what do you think? Am I crazy? How could you be anything but happy and ready to take on the day in a dressing room with curtains like this?!
